On Sunday we visited Challacombe Farm on Dartmoor to see the work that has been done on the meadows there and to meet the friendly sheep. This is part of the Moor Meadows initiative that aims to create and restore flower-rich grasslands across Dartmoor. It was great to see so many Heath Spotted Orchids, but unfortunately the day was too grey and drizzly to see any Marsh Fritillary butterflies.
